The ESG Committee of the Council of European Business Associations and Chambers in Serbia (CEBAC) successfully organized a workshop on the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), coming into effect in Serbia on January 1, 2026. Held at the European House in Belgrade, the event brought together representatives from over 90 companies and institutions. BSBA is proud to have participated as one of CEBAC’s founding members, supporting this initiative and helping Serbian companies prepare for the EU’s evolving climate and trade framework.
The workshop highlighted the importance of ESG compliance, sustainability practices, and early adaptation to EU environmental policies. It also provided a valuable platform for dialogue between the private sector, policymakers, and international partners. The event concluded with a networking coffee powered by Lavazza, allowing participants to continue discussions and share experiences.
The conference was officially opened by Mr. Pasquale De Micco, Head of the European Integration and Economic Section at the EU Delegation to Serbia, Ms. Silvija Rakić, Secretary General of CEBAC, and Ms. Nataša Obradović, Chair of the ESG Committee and Legal Advisor to the CFO at Telekom Srbija.
A panel discussion followed, featuring representatives from leading companies such as Milšped Group, Galeb Metal Pack, TITAN Cementara Kosjerić, ZF Group, and international experts. We were particularly proud that our member, lawyer Filip Živanović from the Law Office Nikčević Kapor and ESG Committee Co-chair, actively contributed by presenting a clear and concise overview of CBAM legislation.
