In collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Belgian-Serbian Business Association, Hellenic Business Association of Serbia, the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and the Croatian Business Club, organized a conference titled “Green Energy Transition”. The event was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia on April 19 and gathered more than 70 representatives from member companies.
The event began with opening remarks from representatives of the chambers and associations that organized the event. Mihailo Vesovic, Director of Division for Strategic Analyses, at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Nevena Đukić, member of the Board of Directors of the BSBA, Sliousaregko Nikolaos, President of the HBA, Ana Govedarica, President of the SSCC, and Marija Radulovic President of the HPK, addressed the attendees and extended their welcome on behalf of the organizers.
On this occasion, Ana Raičević, Secretary of the Association for the Metal and Electrical Industry of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, spoke to the attendees about the key issues, obligations, and deadlines for CBAM obligors during the transitional period in the context of the climate measure aimed at preventing carbon leakage and supporting the EU’s increased ambition in climate change mitigation.
Aleksandar Petković, Director of the Project Management Sector from the Serbian Power Exchange (SEEPEX), presented the topic of the participation of commercial buyers in the electricity market, its benefits, and the operation of the exchange to the members.
The event provided a platform to delve into crucial topics concerning sustainable development, such as CBAM, the energy market, and renewable energy sources. It was a resounding success, boasting strong attendance and garnering enthusiastic feedback from participating member-companies. The engaging discussions sparked during the event underscored its significance in advancing the dialogue on green energy and sustainable practices.
After the formal part, attendees had the opportunity for further networking and exchanging experiences, continuing the dialogue at the cocktail reception organized after the conference.
